Internet went from over 100 mbps down too just 2-3 mbps and has been like this for 3 days and we have heard nothing from etc about what is happening with are wifi. Anybody else have this problem with their internet.

30175 Talking Rock, Pickens County: So it WAS only 3 weeks ago since this occurred at my location. I thought so. Same deal. Am on cable speeds, but it's worse than dial-up ever thought of being. It started up again on 2022.11.23, Thanksgiving Eve. That makes it 48 hours and counting AGAIN right now. Another 12 hours, and it will tie the last incident three weeks ago. Felt like the bosses all went home so an employee decided to mechanically throttle political enemies for the holiday weekend. Another thought is that it could be massive holiday Internet traffic, but no one else seems to be complaining out there on same said Internet. Could be a targeted DDoS attack. There are operating system tools to detect that kind of activity. That's what I will be attempting tonight. There's a warm fuzzies making article called "How To File an FCC or FTC Complaint About Your Internet". I'll be using their information to report these incidences if sniffing Internet traffic packets finds repeated, abusive incoming denial of service attacks against my personal ISP address. The good news takeaway from that possibility is that it wouldn't be ETC's fault in that case. Here's hoping. Of note: It's taking several tries just to post this comment. Some websites take 10, 15, 20 attempts to accomplish any one simple online task.

30175 Talking Rock, Pickens County: My household has been with ETC for almost 30 years now. They've helped me personally with a not normal circumstance in maintaining the account in light of the account owner having been murdered. Today is really the very first time that I can remember not being able to connect to the Internet for any reason other than weather damage. I'm receiving the same DNS errors I've read in other posts here. It's so bad today that Gmail locked me out of my account for a second while saying they were detecting unusual activity. As at least one other post here said, it's about a really choppy feed. That will be offending the websites I'm trying to surf because their servers will potentially view that as an attempted DOS (denial of service) attack. I promise them it's not. :)

Ever since the update 2 days ago the internet keeps going out. Cant even stream a show due to constant buffering. So much for the maintenance update.

30513 blue ridge ga I been using the Local company Etc worst company iv ever used goes in our constantly been waiting hours for the internet to start working would not recommend this company for anything just bs excuses for all there problems

30540 Ellijay Not starting off well! Just moved here an chose to use local cable an internet only to be given a dinosaur of a remote with no instructions and woke up to no cable at 5am!

Jasper 30143- Internet going in and out, TV keeps freezing and loading frequently and then picture comes in fuzzy and the clears. I have 200MB service, this started Wednesday with the freezing.

30143 was told 4/20/2022 that there was an email issue getting an email. But they were working on it and expected it to work late last night. 4/21/2022 still not working.

30175 Have had problems with ETC Internet for days now. Put in a ticket on Thursday and it’s Sunday. I’ve heard from no one when typically they would contact me the next day. Can’t do anything on my phone for constant error messages that the internet can’t be reached. Streaming on my tv keeps crashing. Internet speed tests show consistent loss, when it can connect. ETC used to run so smoothly now it seems to often be slow or down.

Ellijay, 30540 - I lost service due to a storm, I informed ETC of the situation and a ticket was created. After 2 hours I called back and was informed that they only work 9-5. I cannot believe that a service company of this size ignores its customers. Everyone in Gilmer county relies on phone and internet, and to be told that they only work when it’s convenient is ludicrous. I am a retired power lineman and never went home until service was restored. I will contact the Georgia Public Service Commission about these work practices.
