Metra with the acronym METX, is a commuter railroad based in the greater Chicago metropolitan area in the state of Illinois. The railroad runs to 241 stations and has 11 different rail lines built upon rail infrastructure, which was originally created in the 19th century. It is known to be the fourth busiest commuter rail system in the US based on ridership statistics, is the largest and busiest commuter rail system outside the New York City metropolitan area.
