About Simple
Simple was initially known as BankSimple founded in Brooklyn New York, in 2009. Currently, it's rebranded as Simple, and is an American direct bank based in Portland, Oregon. The company provides its customers FDIC-insured checking accounts via a partnership with The Bancorp. They are a part of the STAR network for surcharge-free banking access to around 55,000 ATMs countrywide. They are a cheaper alternative to traditional banking with fees. Since 2014, Simple has become part of the BBVA Group, that is one of the largest banks in Europe.
