Target Corporation which most know simply as Target is the second-largest discount retailer in the United States, after Walmart. It is a component of the S&P 500 Index. Created by George Dayton with its HQ in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the company's first name was original Goodfellow Dry Goodsback in 1902, but the parent company was renamed the Dayton Corporation in 1967. Target runs 1,792 locations throughout the United States. The have a retail format which includes a discount store Target, the hypermarket SuperTarget, and flexible format store which was named CityTarget and TargetExpress before being brought under the Target brand.
